Martock 10k Full Results
From Jo: Everyone was fast & everyone’s was awesome, especially in the heat. Big shout out also to those pacing & marshalling. Everyone did our club proud - BIG WELL DONE ALL

From Annie: I completed the Martock 10K today
This is only my third ever 10K, and I always get quite emotional at these races. Four years ago, I had a nasty horse riding accident that badly damaged my right calf muscle. I couldn't even walk for two months afterwards, and for a long time I genuinely believed my running days were over.
Two years later, I tried going for a run again, but my calf flared up badly, so I accepted that running just wasn't going to be possible for me.
Then, in August last year, I decided to give it one more try. I went out for a little run just to see what would happen... and this time, my calf didn't flare up. From that moment, I just kept running a little more, and then a little more again. If someone had told me a year ago that I'd be standing here today with a 10K medal around my neck, I would never have believed them.
I really want to say a huge thank you to everyone at the club who has supported me on this journey. Thank you to everyone who has encouraged me, shared advice, coached me, driven me to races, collected race bibs, cheered me on, and shown me kindness along the way. A special thank you to Kim, who saw I was struggling with my nerves today and walked alongside me for a while. Your kindness meant more than you know.
Running has given me something I never thought I'd have again, and I honestly couldn't have got this far without the support of so many wonderful people.
Thank you all for believing in me and being part of my running journey. It means the world.

From Kim: Missed the team pic at start...tough one in heat & cannot say enjoyed it. Thanks to all the ytrrc marshalls for their support especially Nicki Hale at end.. Well done to Annie too, good to meet you,

From Ann-Marie: Martok 10k alot of PBs this morning! Brilliant race. My favourite so far! Thanks for all the support especially Joanna Samuel and Helen Nesbitt and for YTRRC being such a great supportive running club. Much love.

From Sarah: Martock 10k was a bit special for me today. It wasn’t about PB chasing, but my first (and probably only) opportunity to race with both my boys. As expected Luke whizzed ahead and came in at 42 mins. Super proud of Toby who doesn’t run, didn’t train, borrowed trainers but still was happy for us to have a race together as he knew it meant a lot to me. We came in at under 56 mins, but the little bugger left me for dust on the sprint finish, and I’m totally not cross about it . Super proud of them both.

Park Runs
From Terry: Gibraltar Botanical Gardens Parkrun. Undulating is the word.
From Helen: Frogmary Parkrunthis morning.

From Ali: Itchen park run today for the last letter of our park run alphabet. Bumped into Adrian. Lovely mostly shady windy paths through wooded areas and around Go Ape section.

From Margarita: Park walk at Exeter Riverside parkrun today. A tester for my calf for tomorrow, seems to be okay. A lovely walk in the sun.

PUB RUN – SHEPTON BEAUCHAMP – (25TH JUNE 2026)
From Mark: On the hottest day in June for 50 years we did a pub run. Ann and Guy ran fast. I don’t think Stephen joined them tonight. Mike, JC, and myself made up the not so fast group, but we just walked a 3.5 mile anti-clockwise loop. Phil ran alone.
Leaving the pub on this hot evening we walked southwards down to Littlefields lane where we turned left. We followed the narrow lane up to Shapway cross and turned left again. We continued past Compton Durville and onto West Lambrook, where we turned left again. Here we saw Ann and Guy running up ahead. We continued south westward back to Shepton Beauchamp and the pub.
Back in the pub that cold drink was very welcome. The only food on offer tonight was a bar-b-q due to the kitchen being closed due to the hot weather. That burger with the salad extras was good. We sat outside for the bar-b-q. Thanks Phil for organising.
