Baltonsborough

From Jo:  Between the two photos I think we got everyone!! Loads of green & whites at today’s Baltonsborough 5mile road race. Now it was a championship race so there were points on offer. It was also a five mile race (which are few & far between) so a race for our hats too. The sun was hot & a few suffered but all club members smashed it. Well done to Felicity Came for bagging 4th lady finisher & 1st in her age category.

It was great to see so many of us & we all did our club proud

From Felicity:  I was told I should put this on here. Well done to everyone who ran 5 miles on a very hot morning in Baltonsborough today!! Everyone was amazing! I was super pleased with my time. 4th female over all and a vet 35 1st place. Actually got my first prize.

Weekend Running

From Helen:  Sunday Club Run complete - East Coker/Barwick/Jack the Treacle Eater Loop … it was a hot one…we went from 11 to 10 to 8 to 7 and finished with 6 of us everyone did well though, hope the peel off’ers are good, nice social coffee and cake after and a special mention to Elie who completed a massive 20 miles and still looked strong at the end.

From Ali: Well done all 8 of us today for a 7 mile route out to West Coker and back. Weather was hot and sunny and lovely to be out in the countryside with great company.

Park Runs

From Harriet:  Curly wurly parkrun this morning. Navigating with a buggy on rutty dry ground was fun. If you get a chance, go as a group - it's great fun for people spotting!

From Jo: Huge congratulations to Linda Membury on her th Parkrun this morning. Many green & whites along with her family joined her at Frogmary Green Farm parkrun to celebrate.

From Felicity: Made it to shepton Mallet parkrun this morning. PB times for both me and pheebs! Good course for it and a lovely sunny morning!

From Chris: So proud of this young man. Dawson ran his first parkrun today in minehead. Ran under 33mins!

From Steve:  Swm mae! (greetings from Aberystwyth Cymru). Whilst I’m in mid west Wales doing some of the Welsh coast path I thought I’d do some parkrun tourism. It’s was a 4 and half out and back lap course through a tree lined avenue (10 different species of tree according to the park notice board!). A flat course but with switch backs at the end of each lap slowing things down a bit (15/251 00:19:27). Well attended and friendly marshal’s.

PUB RUN – MOSTERTON – (21ST AUGUST 2025)

From Mark:  Just JC and myself in the not so fast group tonight. Phil and Guy both ran alone. On this warm and sunny evening, we ran Chedington lane out to the village of Chedington, and back. About two miles out, after some climb, we turned left and descended down into the small village full of old historic buildings. Keeping right, we looped round and just ran back the same way, passing Phil on the way.

On Thursday Pie night, the food is always good. You get a choice of pie, and a lot of help yourself vegetables. Thanks Phil for organising.
