Hare Challenge            Full Results

From Lindsay: So today was a particularly early start with alarm going off at 5.20 am lol, not great when the rain woke me to at 2.30 am and couldn't get back to sleep for an hour..i was off to do my 24th marathon, my 14th in 15 months (or should i say 11 marathons and 3 ultras lol). I had a 73 mile (1.5 hr) drive to Okehampton where I was going to meet Georgina Brice , but I ended up at station rd in centre of Okehampton, not the correct station road which was another 15 mins away..I told Georgina to crack on and hopefully I would catch her up. This is an out and back race x 8 times (each lap is about 3.2 isj miles? With a great aid station every time you return to the start so no need to carry any supplies if you don't want to. My plan was to continue running for half marathon distance as i have the Yeovil half coming up in March so used it as a training run (13 miles in 2 hours today)..I would then hopefully catch Georgina up and we could run/ walk together and have a catch up, which we did..we were both getting over bad chests so it was lovely to slow down and carry on together..Im waiting for my official time but think it's around 5 hours which isn't bad considering we power walked the last 13 miles. It was great to see Kat Quinton and maria and Chris wadey today too. Great medal and well supported by Tim and Jenny at Running Events Devon. Thanks guys.

From Margarita: Over to Okehampton today to take part in the Hare Challenge from Running Events Devon. I had always set out to do the Half Marathon for my January half, this was 4 laps there and back. Andy Fielding did amazing sticking with me all the way to completed his first ever half marathon. A first doing these events but would do another again so would Andy.

CLUB SOCIAL HIKE AT SHERBORNE - SUNDAY 18/01/2026

From Mark: I would like to thank all of you for coming out today and taking part in this hike. The weather was not ideal being poor visibility with occasional fine drizzle. Thankfully there was no heavy rain. I'm also pleased you enjoyed the wet and muddy (often very slippery) conditions under foot, and the occasional incline. Thanks Alison for organising the very good roast dinners that we had afterwards at the Britannia Inn. I'll put another hike in the diary for sometime in early March.

Weekend Running

From Tracy: 6 of us this morning for a lovely 7 mile jeff out to Compton and back.

From Mags: Three of us went out and run the South Petherton pre-London 22miler route where we found there's alot of water on the course! Andy and I did the whole 22mile loop with Leigh covering just over 20miles.

From Chris: Just the four of us running from cavity trays today. Lovely puddles out to Montecute and up to Odcombe. Great running from everyone get well soon Sharon Hardy and Tim Willis.

Park Runs

From Louise: Really liked this one. It was a bit muddy but lovely view of the sun shining on the reservoir and enjoyable running along the Strawberry Line. Excellent facilities here too and parking fine as long as you get there 8.30ish.

From Margarita: Shepton Mallet parkrun for us today. Fancied a bit of volunteering so Andy Fielding and I volunteered to tail walk. Lovely to see Debbie Dare, great running.

From Trevor: Street parkrun heavy going in the mud.

From Kevin:  The Great Field parkrun for myself and Steve Lye today. Steve finished 8th in 20:15 1st in AG.  Great running from Jack ( 2nd ) , Lauren ( 1st female in 20:50 ) , Adrian , Paul , Malcolm, Jesse with June and Adam doing some pretty impressive paced walking. 341 Finishers. The marshaling here is amazing.
