Albion Westcountry Ultra 100 Miler 2026
The Club had 4 runners in the 100 miler, Dom, Ann, Katie and Taryn, the race started in Taunton and finished in Minehead.

Dom Had a great race and finished with a time of 31hr 6 mins, great running Dom you must be over the moon.
Sadly, but still a great achievement Ann retired at 70 miles have been in third place most of the way and would have been first lady. Katie retired at 80k and Taryn made it to Minehead before the start of the big loop. Well done to all of you.
From Katie: I'm out at 80k - didn't quite make it to Minehead but happy with that and feeling very proud. Taryn Monks still going.
Update - Taryn has successfully made it to Minehead we have our medals and we're heading home.

From Ann: What a day yesterday got 70 miles done kept up with the faster runners and didn't struggle but unfortunately got so dehydrated i started to become so unwell and couldn't keep anything down so called it and stopped. Woke up few blisters , still dehydrated but the bod feels great so pleased with that. I've learned a lot and will definitely go back and finish it . Thank you to everyone word of encouragement and people that filled me it really means a lot.

The Saints Hills
Today saw the local Saints Hills 5 and 10k race, the results are not out yet but the Club did pick up a view prizes.

From Mafalda: It has been almost 1 year since my last race, so today I decided to venture 5km on the paths I walk sometimes in Ham Hill. It has been almost 1 year since my last race, so today I decided to venture 5km on the paths I walk sometimes in Ham Hill.
The Saints Hills is quite hilly, even on the 5k but it was a lovely run, so well organised and everyone really friendly . Had to love the ice lolly at the end! Just perfect. I was the only Yeovil runner doing the 5k and with all the hills (yes that word again ) and single line walking it took me a bit longer than expected but you can't beat the feeling of a race. So proud of our club getting the first 2 places on the 10k and having another 2 members that even though they fell and got injured still finished the race. And of course I'm loving my colourful new medal.

Bideford 10k
From Mat: After 5years of set backs, covid, catching covid, injury and a race cancellation due to the weather i finally got to put on a England Masters vest at the Bideford England masters representative Race against the home countries. Although after going down with a sickness bug 10days ago I had thought not again .
Any way loved the occasion and wearing the England vest alongside those top Masters athletes.
Race plan go steady enjoy the run as a couple of sharp hills in the first 3K and a very gusty wind to contend with around the course. Chip time 44-50 5th in age so Although my time was my slowest yet I'm a very proud England master.
Some staggering times from some age groups, the top over 60s running 34mins and the first 18 over 60s were well under 40mins for the 10K and that's probably not even a fast course.

Bristol Half
From Jo: A bright & early start for 5 of us this morning, heading to Bristol for the half marathon.

Ottery 10k
From Trevor: Only 3 of us today! First in for YTRRC males Steve Lye, then myself(Trevor Strelley) First Lady for YTRRC the lovely Rachael Jones! Mostly undulating on a hot day! Great race with a fab T shirt.

Lymington 10km
From Margarita: Lymington 10km for us today. A nice run out the field then along the gravelly sea front. Robert Adams came in first for Yeovil followed by myself and Andy Fielding closely followed by Claire Church then Alison Griffiths and Tracy Symes. Very windy on the sea front but a lovely run that we'd do again.

Great West Run - Sunday May 24th - Coach details
From Linda: Phil Mac Quaid has organised a 30 seater coach and we have arrange for the Coach to meet us outside of the Football Club at 6.30am ready to go at 6.40am. The Half Marathon starts at 9am and the 10K at 9.40. The coach can't take us straight to the venue, so there will be a short walk to the start/ bag drop off etc. I have been told there will be refreshment available afterwards whilst we are waiting for all our runners to finish. I am planning on asking the driver to pick us up approx 12.30pm (3.5 hours after the first race starts) This should give us all plenty of time for all of us to finish without the pressure. I have 21 people on my list and I do have a few available seats left, this is a first come, first served basis. If you are not on the list, PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP! Club Championship
From Helen: If you are a relatively new member of our Club, you may not know about our Club Championships which we hold annually. All the details can be found on our website at https://www.yeoviltownrrc.com/about-and.../club-awards.htm. As well as the Championships you can earn yourself a Hat by entering various distances over the year. Again the details for this are on the same link. Have a read as there is still plenty of time to take part. It adds to the social and camaraderie of the club with lots of support along the way. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. Happy running.
Weekend Running
From Tim: A quiet Saturday morning Cavity trays with only Chris Greengrow and I running up to Odcombe, with a bit of off road and around the old dump road. A tad warm. Needed the breakfast at no.5 afterwards with the old fellas.

Park Runs
From Kim: Lovely sunny morning with my friend Claire doing her 1st.parkrun, 4 x laps of Two fields with fantastic view of the Abbey & downhill finish.

From Margarita: A few of us are in Lymington this weekend. So off to Lymington Woodside parkrun a lovely 3 laps course, mixed terrain but mainly flat, really enjoyed this one. Andy Fielding has now completed his parkrun milestone 25, got his L for the alphabet and his namely...well done.

From Lesley: A super morning at Marine Parade parkrun with Tony, Paul & Rach. Rach did amazingly with a huge PB, 1st in her age category, 4th female. Paul just missed out on his aim of under 20 min but also came first in his age category. A lovely breakfast at The Green House even without Helen, our 'Breakfast Queen' who is still enjoying life in Tenerife. We forgot to get a photo at the end to include Tony.

From Donna: Parkrun PB. It's taken me 118 parkruns to get anywhere near 30 mins. Yes I'm kicking myself that i didn't run another 11 seconds faster so I could say sub 30. Longrun Meadows is a nice flat 2 laps around. I parked at Tesco and walked over a small bridge to start. Saw Rachael Jones so was nice to see a friendly face.

PUB RUN – COMPTON DUNDON – (7TH MAY 2026)
From Mark: Gareth, Ann, and Guy ran fast tonight. Linda, Mel C, Rob, JC, and myself made up one not so fast group. Alison, Rachael, and Mel D made up another not so fast group.
Denise, David, and Mike had a nice walk climbing the path through the woods, and continuing on to the view point with the wooden chair carved out of a tree. Phil ran alone.
Leaving the pub we ran through the car park and onto the track which becomes a path climbing through the woods. At the top we continued to the viewpoint with a chair carved out of a tree, and then onto the Admiral Hood monument. Descending down onto the road, we then continued the descent back down to the village.
For a second loop we crossed the main road, and ran the road through Castlebrook and Dundon. Just before reaching the main road at the other end, we turned left and entered allotments. The path continued across fields where several deer were spotted. The path brought us back to Castlebrook, and it was then just a short run back to the pub.
It was good to be back here. The pub food was good, and the area has some nice off-road terrain. Thanks Phil for organising.
