Weekend Running

From Mark:  CAVITY TRAYS with Sharon and Tim.

Tim ran faster with Paul, and Sharon ran not so fast with Anita, Leanne, Chris, Sandra, and myself.

We headed eastward in the cold sunshine along Thorne Lane, and turned to descend the A37. Just past the bus stop we took the track which led down to Yeovil Marsh. We continued to Stone Lane which we then climbed. At the top we headed westward back to base via Combe Street Lane and Thorne Lane.

For Breakfast we went to the Hub on the A303. Me and Phil went the long way via Hamishes near Yetminster (due to a slight misunderstanding). Thanks Sharon for the run. I needed a Saturday run for a change.

Park Runs

From Ali: Bridport park run this chilly sunny morning followed by breakfast at Symondsbury Kitchen and a walk around Comer Hill.

From Steve: Merry Christmas to one and all.Along with 285 other runners I partook in the festive edition of Vicar Water country park parkrun this morning (and got my “V”). A really friendly 2 lap run through the forest and around lakes. There was a killer of a hill where crampons and ropes would have helped. (15/286 and 1st in age). Now for the festivities.

From June: It was an early morning start as we had to catch the MRT at 0615 to get to this park run. Singapore Bay East Garden Park run is a double out and back course and completely flat. Starting just underneath Sheares Bridge the route goes south along the river until the 1.25km turnaround point, then it heads back towards the start at Sheares Bridge, repeating the route for a 2nd lap, finishing under the Sheares Bridge. The view of the Gardens by the Bay as you run along the river stops it from being boring. 30C at 0730 and very humid. I was beginning to feel it towards the end, but happy with 2nd in age category.

From Donna: Just Trevor and me at Shepton Mallet today. Bitterly cold and windy.

From Helen: Just a few of us at Frogmary Green Farm parkrun this morning…lovely sunny fresh one!

From Rach: A beautiful run this morning at Killerton for Louise and I, 1 lap around the grounds all on trail, despite the bitter cold the sun was out for us. We scooped up Tony on route and all finished together, good to see Jon there also!
