Two Tunnels

From Felicity:  Two tunnels today. The marathon for me and the half for Jack Lax I saw another Yeovil runner too doing a different distance and I waved but I don’t think she saw me.

A lovely route through the tunnels and along the canal, but harder than I had bargain for with a lot of steps to negotiate. I really enjoyed the first lap and was happily chatting away to some other runners I met, but then the sun came out and the rough ground and steps on tired legs were quite tough.

Still we both did well, I believe that Jack was second in his wave and I was also second person and first female in mine with a Strava time of 3:31. Need to wait for the full results to come out tonight to see where we placed overall. But a good if tiring run.

Frome Running Festival

From Ali:  A few of us had a lovely morning at the Frome Running Festival.  Well organised and a really friendly event! For the half marathon.. Joe crossed the line first for Yeovil followed by Darren (he came 3rd in his age category ), then Rob, Rach and finishing strong Margarita and Andy

For the 10k.. I crossed the line first followed by Ally and then two other Yeovil runners.  To say that both courses were “undulating” ..well, I would be lying ..the comments from the others were “hilly” and “brutal”. Some cracking times and everyone seemed to enjoy! Well done guys.

Tough Mudder 5k

From Annie: So much fun taking on the obstacles together, and a massive well done to Caitlin for completing her first ever race!

Weekend Running

From Tracy: Leading Allys 10k group this morning doing the Coker loop. Well done all.

From Mags: Sunday long run this morning following Felicity's route out to Merriot via lanes and back to Stoke when we had a nice water stop (thanks G!).

From Lesley: A good turnout for today's Sunday jeffing group. 9 miles of trail and road to East and West Cokers. Great company as always followed by the usual social with the other groups at the cafe after.

Sunflower Stride 10k!

From Trev: Longest and toughest 10k I have ever done.

Park Runs

From Helen: Torbay Velopark Parkrun for us again this morning ,on our last holiday day ! Having properly rested, with very little running, I decided to ‘go for it’ and managed my fastest parkrun time this year 24:43. Went over to Dartmouth to ‘Greek Delight’ for a delicious brekki after and then headed to our fav beach to grab a last 3hrs relaxation reading and swimming , oh and an ice creambefore heading home!

From Jo: As always, it took a few attempts to get all the green & whites at Frogmary Green Farm parkrun this morning & still think I missed some!! Big shout out to those club members who also marshalled, especially Linda Membury on her 50th marshalling.

From Margarita: Marshalling at frogmary parkrun today, cheering on at my corner of the upper bonfire as runners passed me twice. Breakfast at Pips afterwards. A nice morning in the sun, a few pictures taken.

From Nicki:  The Great Field Park Run. Today Kim Kerswell and myself ventured to Poundbury to do The Great Field Park Run! It was hot out there! Well done Kim you did amazing!!

From Adam: YTRRC at the Weymouth park run.

PUB RUN – MOSTERTON – (13TH AUGUST 2026)

From Mark:  It was another very hot evening and a low turn out with only Phil, Guy, JC, and myself. Because of the heat we arranged for an early dinner at 7:30, and did a shorter run.

JC and myself ran the lane eastwards towards Chedington. We climbed the hill, turned around after 25 minutes and ran back. Some of the views were great.

As always, the pie meal afterwards was very good, and good value. Thanks Phil for organising.
