Released On 1st Jun 2025
Crewkern 10k
From Rach: An amazing 22 green and white vests were amongst the crowds gathered outside the town hall this morning! Despite a “few” hills and a warm morning there were some very good results!
Top 3 Male: Luke, Joe Keen and Jack Lax
Top 3 Female: Ann, Joanna and Linda
Congratulations to Ann, who won her age category!
And finally, a special mention to our top 4 boys; Luke, Joe, Jack and Gareth who won the fastest overall male team . Well done everyone.
St Agnes Coastal Trail Half
From Steve: St Agnes coastal trail half Marathon 31/5/25 (organisers have the wrong date on results !). I fancied a road trip to Cornwall and what better than to include a trail half marathon into the trip. The scenery on this course is stunning with expansive views of the Atlantic from the top of the rugged cliff tops. The route takes you past ruined Cornish tin mines, through pretty Cornish villages and into wild forests (no sign of any Cornish Piskies ). Just for good measure two ascents of St Agnes Beacon are included to test the heart and lungs. I would describe the course as aggressively undulating aka flipping hilly! I would recommend this race - loved it
Weekend Running
From Ali: Sunday social 10K group this morning with a trail route out to the Cokers. We met up with the 10 mile group who like us had to crawl under the electric fence which was across the middle of the field. A lovely chatty social run with great company and yummy caramel shortbread from Helen Nesbitt— with Daphne Barfoot and Chris Greengrow.
From Mags: Another training run this morning. Nice to see Nat out there enjoying local trails too. 20miles in the bag and another step closer to Ham&Lyme.
From Helen: What a lovely Sunday social 10 mile runin the sun thanks for adapting our Jack the Treacle Eater route Laurie and Natasha to include more trail thoroughly enjoyed! Nice to bump into the 10k group too. Well done all x
From Chris: After Mel Cox and I did a few early miles we set off with the Cavity trays gang into the beautiful Somerset countryside Tim promised a run that was just over 10k (8 miles ) but the lovely weather and gorgeous trail route made it fab.

PUB RUN – SOUTH PETHERTON – (29TH MAY 2025)
From Mark: Sue planned a pleasant, mostly off-road route for the not so fast group which tonight comprised Elie, Chloe, Sue, Kelly, JC, Rob, Katie, Mel, Lawrie, Alison, and myself. It was sunny, and the ground was mostly dry, so the running was easy with off-road paths firstly out towards East Lambrook, then over to Mid Lambrook, and Compton Durville. Near Rydon farm we stopped for photographs with a tin man, then continued back into South Petherton. The paths were well used so there were no problems with overgrown vegetation, which is common this time of year. Thanks Sue for a nice route, and for leading. Thanks Phil for organising. I enjoyed the pub meal afterwards.
