Big Sea Event

From Ann: My self, Matthew Bambury , Andy Lambert travelled to the isle of purbeck for the big sea event. Andy Lambert done the 18miles, matt Bambury done the marathon and I done the ultra which was 34 miles just over . And wow what an event from start to finish it was extremely challenging we started on the beach for about a mile then through the sand dunes into the forest tracks which if not careful you definitely were going to roll your ankles as a lot did. Then it was hills after hills and steps don't even get me started on those lovely delightful beastly things. It was set after set and safe to say if i see another set of stairs anytime soon I will have a melt down lol. Plus the precious cliff edges with the wind that could take you over at anytime or blow you into the lovely barbed wire, the finish was lovely ending on the sand dunes . I'm super chuffed as I was the first lady back on the ultra. What an amazing event run by BigFeat Community .they had amazing marshals and amazing aid stations.

Camelot Challenge Half

From Louise: Camelot Challenge Half for most of us with Claire Church sensibly doing the 10k. A beautiful but very tough, mainly off road route with great views up on the ridge. Very well organised, easy parking at The Gryphon School, medal and T-Shirt and amazing cake supplied by Olivers of Sherborne. We were lucky with perfect weather conditions and you have 6 hours to do it so you can do as much walking as you need. However, the hills are pretty brutal even to walk!

Swansea Half

From Matt: Swansea half marathon today in near perfect weather for running ,just a bit breezy. No big expectation today just to enjoy the run and atmosphere as not put the training miles . Took a fall 3 miles in ,not to much damage done just dented my pride and lost my gels . Happy to finish with a couple of quicker miles in a time of 1:37: 47.

Weekend Runing

From Rob: Lovely Sunday morning run today taking Helen’s gang. Hit the trails with hills out around the Cokers followed by cake from Lesley Nesbitt.

From Amanda:  What a beautiful morning for a run out to Trent with these two lovely ladies and thanks Lesley Nesbitt for the cake afterwards.

From Ali: A lovely sunny run this morning out to Nethercompton. Well done everyone for the 7 miles and thank you Lesley Nesbitt for the yummy cake.

Park Runs

From Margarita: A lovely morning at Frogmary Green Farm parkrun it even stayed dry for us.

From Lesley: A few of us at The Great Field parkrun this morning. Ken Hewitt took our photo from the loo queue and no time for our usual 'Jo selfie'. At least the weather stayed dry for us. There are lots of photos of us all on Ken's FB Page.

From Terry: A rainy Sharpham Road PR Tourist 24

PUB RUN – SHEPTON BEAUCHAMP – (5TH JUNE 2025)

From Mark: There were Just six of us tonight, Phil, Guy, Ann, Mat, and me and JC running in the not so fast group. Leaving the pub and running eastward through the village, we later turned left at greenway lane. Turning right at the end, we ran along Rodwell lane, until reaching Iron Dish lane. Turning left, then right, we continued to Burrow. Noisy but not aggressive dogs came out of a farm yard just as Guy, Ann, and Mat approached us. We continued down to the Rusty Axe, and turned right. We ran through Stembridge, and along New Cross hill. We ran through West Lambrook, then back the way we came to the pub. After we all had pie, and it was good.
