Jurassic Coast 100k Ultra Challenge

From Sarah: What an adventure. Loved every minute (apart from the beach section). Ultra Challenge knows how to put on an event. With rest stops with loads of toilets, hot drinks, bakery, picnic lunches, pic and mix, hot food. You really are well looked after.

I will definitely be back in 2027 to do it all over again!

Portcullis Trail 10k

From Kayleigh: Portcullis Trail 10k in Langport today! Gold for me, bronze for Oli B A really excellent race, brilliant marshals, fantastic post race cakes.

Beer Blazer 10 miler.        Full Results

Well done to Jo Keen coming in third.

From Debbie: Another Sunday and another race! This one took me to sunny Devon for the tough 6 mile Beer Blazer. Very hilly, boggy with a nice run along the beach as well! 1st in age category and 1st YTRRC female.

From Eleanor:  What a route That was TOUGH! The climbs never seemed to end, and the descents weren’t always exactly runnable either. We got caught in the cold rain and brutal wind right at the top of one of the hills, and somehow the bogs were even boggier than expected

Definitely one of those races where you question your life choices halfway round… but somehow still enjoyed it by the finish.

Huge shout out to Chris for getting me through the wobbles, and to all the fantastic marshals who stood out there cheering everyone on in some pretty grim conditions. A lovely finish and brilliant atmosphere made it all worth it.

Another cracking event

From Helen: Tough run that one, and on a new course that took us through a few bogs…twice!! Lush to do it as a group, sorry we got split from a few (Jo) . Lucky with the weather , until 20mins after finishing when the heavens opened.

Plymouth 10k

From Trevor: Plymouth 10k Great race superbly organised! Do it next year.

The Badrat Bolt

From Margarita: The badrat bolt for us three today. A lovely flat route with one hill around the roads of Bridgwater a nice loop before an out and back section on the cycle path. Cookies and a medal at the finish. Very well organised for their first ever race.

Portcullis 10k

From Angela: Portcullis 10k first run in my YTRRC vest. Lovely run and my legs still worked after Friday track!

Weekend Runing

From Mark:  We were in Ilchester this morning for a walk/run followed by a most enjoyable Car Park Picknic.

From Sharon: Annual pilgrimage to see Katy Brooks in the Lake District. To make the most of the festval and time with Katy Brooks Anita and I took on Skiddaw. 7 miles of climbing before descending. The most challenging event I have ever done. It's not for the faint hearted that's for sure. Now for some R&R and to enjoy the festival.

Park Runs

From Donna: At long last I got sub 30 at a Parkrun. Blandford for me this morning and time was 29.42. Age grade 67.75. Only taken 119 parkruns to get there. Nice out and back. Toilets are by tourist information further in the town. Parking is on side of road.

From Gav: Woolacombe Dunes parkrun as part of my son in law to be Stag Weekend. As tough as it says on the tin. Quick fry up then Surf lesson this afternoon. More like a boot camp than a stag do.

From Katie:  Fountains Abbey Parkrun. This one has been on my parkrun list for a while now and it didn’t disappoint. An incredible place to have a parkrun. The Abbey ruins are a real WOW! You run one lap around the ruins and then a lap around the Royal Studley Water Gardens and then along the path back towards the Abbey. If you are a NT member it’s well worth going back in to explore it more after parkrun. Just under 500 runners this morning, very friendly marshals and a firm favourite for me.

From Stace: First Shepton Mallet parkrun this morning for Jess Smith & myself after a glowing recommendation from Margarita Moore. Fantastic course and really enjoyed it, would definitely do this one again.

From Helen:  The New Frogmary Green Farm Parkrun for us the morning! Quite a few YTRRC today - think I enjoyed the new course, will have to do it again to be sure!  Made sure Jeff’s birthday got a mention. Nice social and brekki at The 303 Hub after.

PUB RUN – MUDDLED MAN – (16TH MAY 2026)

From Bungy: There were three groups tonight, Ann, Steve and me on a long 8 miler (very hilly), Rob and JC in another and Phil and Ali went for a very long walk. We left the Pub and went towards Chiselbourgh, turned left up  East Street and then down Smoky Hole lane. Steve and I had to listen Ann telling us about her little run last Saturday but I told het that was nothing compared to the Saints Hills I did on Sunday. We got back to the Pub then JC and Rob turned up but Phil and Ali were still out there somewhere and it was getting food time. They finally turned up and then the food came out. We were treated to some Morris Dancing as we left.
